Still Time to Register for Cyndi Howells Seminar in Shelby, OH

We understand that the registration for the OGS-sponsored seminar by Cyndi Howells on using the Internet for genealogical research is likely to be filled before the event, so get your registration in soon. Go to the Ohio Genealogical Society's website at www.ogs.org to register, or call 419-756-7294 for registration materials or request them by e-mail via the website.

Ms Howells will present three lectures during the day-long session: "Googling for Grandma," "Internet Communications Depot," and "Planting Your Family Tree Online." She also will field questions from the audience during an hour-long question and answer session.

The event, which will serve to kick off Family History Month in Ohio, is on Saturday, October 1. It is being held from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the James W. Kehoe Center for Advanced Learning; North Central State College (Shelby Campus); 175 Mansfield Ave., Shelby, Ohio. A map and directions are available on the Internet at .

Cyndi Howells is the owner and Webmaster of Cyndi's List of Genealogy Sites on the Internet, , a categorized index to over 209,500 online resources. It has three times been voted the best genealogy site on the Web and receives more than 3.2 million visits each month. Cyndi, a genealogist for more than 24 years, is a member of the board of directors for the National Genealogical Society. She is author of three books for genealogical research on the Internet titled, Netting Your Ancestors, Cyndi’s List, and Planting Your Family Tree Online: How to Create Your Own Family History Web Site.

A post-conference reception honoring Cyndi Howells will be held at the Ohio Genealogical Society's Library, 713 South Main Street, Mansfield, Ohio. The library will remain open for extended research hours following the reception.

The fee for OGS members is $25.00 and for non-members it is $35.00.
